Inauguration of the Center for Counseling & Reproductive Health Care Services (24/03/2016)

On the morning of March 01, 2016, the inauguration ceremony of the Center for Counseling & Reproductive Health Care Services was solemnly held by the Vietnamese Association of Midwives in Thuy Thanh commune, Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province. Participating at the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Viet Tien – Vice Health Minister, Mr. Kentaro Suzuki – 1st secretary of Japanese Embassy, Mr. Nguyen Dung – Vice Chairperson of the People’s committee of Thua Thien Hue province, delegations from JOICFP Japanese, Ms. Phan Thi Hanh – Chairperson of the Vietnamese Association of Midwives.

The center was built using the non-refundable aid provided by the Japanese Foreign Ministry via the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP) within the scope of the project “Building the Consultative Center for Reproductive Health Services and building capacity for local midwives in Thua Thien Hue province” implemented by the Vietnamese Association of Midwives (VAM) and the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP) under guidance of the Vietnam Ministry of Health (MOH), the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and Departments of Health from Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh province.

The Center had 2 floors, total floor area was 740 m2 and 18 rooms, which will allow the Center to host refresher trainings, capacity building trainings for local midwives; to provide reproductive health services for women in remote areas and conduct communication programs on reproductive health for women with the view to total health protection for women in rural and urban areas.
